Artist Statement

 I do not remember the moment I first derived joy from putting paint to canvas.  It seems the desire to create has always  been deep within me, always urging me forward, challenging me to try something new, encouraging me to produce visually pleasing images.  Creating an image by manipulating paint intrigues me.  Because I am most content within the process of capturing and  interpreting the myriad and transient personal perceptions of the small globe that surrounds me, my subject matter is quite diverse: landscapes, people, buildings and the random still life.  I am always alert to the things that catch my attention and compel a second look. The fact that others connect to these brief glimpses into my world, is a most precious gift.
